Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about IdeaFlow and how it works.
What is IdeaFlow?
IdeaFlow is a platform that guides you from a rough idea to production-ready software. Using conversational AI, we help you define clear requirements, manage the development process, and maintain your software after launch.
Do I need to be technical to use IdeaFlow?
Not at all. IdeaFlow is designed for non-technical founders and business owners. You describe your idea in plain language, and our AI handles the technical translation. You'll review and approve everything, but you don't need to write or understand code.
How is this different from using Cursor, Bolt, or Replit?
Those tools help you generate code, but they leave you on your own for requirements, project management, and maintenance. IdeaFlow manages the entire lifecycle -- from defining what to build, through development, to ongoing support after launch.
What happens during the requirements phase?
You have a conversation with our AI about your idea. It asks targeted questions about your users, features, constraints, and goals. From this conversation, it generates a comprehensive Product Requirements Document (PRD) that becomes the blueprint for your project.
Can I modify the PRD after it's generated?
Absolutely. The PRD is a draft until you approve it. You can request changes, add details, or ask the AI to reconsider sections. It's a collaborative process designed to capture your vision accurately.
How does project management work?
Once you approve the PRD, it's broken into a kanban board with prioritized cards. Each card represents a task that moves through stages: Backlog, To Do, In Progress, Review, and Done. You can track progress in real time and review work at each stage.
Is there GitHub integration?
Yes. Projects are backed by GitHub repositories. Cards on your project board are linked to GitHub issues and pull requests, so you can see code changes directly from the platform.
What happens after my project launches?
Your project enters maintenance mode. You can report bugs, submit feature requests, and receive automatic updates for dependencies and security patches. Your software stays healthy without requiring constant attention.
Who actually writes the code?
A combination of AI and human developers. AI handles routine code generation and standard implementations. Human developers review AI output and handle complex tasks like architecture, security, and edge cases.
